A project on synthetic intimacy, the closeness AI creates with nothing real behind it. A five-scene film asks what we lose when feeling connected becomes enough. An em-dash-shaped book strips the text down to its argument. A custom GPT trained only on the project answers questions from within the work, and knows nothing else.

What does a dancefloor sound like when we listen with our eyes?
SPM (Steps Per Minute) is a self-directed project that senses collective movement on a dancefloor and turns it into a shared visual rhythm. Alongside coding the screen display, I directed and edited a cinematic trailer for it, working with a team to film it.

A box. A simple box. What is a box, really? What do we put inside one, and why, to contain, protect, hide, gift, send, or dispose of it? A box means different things depending on its purpose, so what does that make the box itself?
This project translates a feeling I had after moving to London, unsure, uncertain, unpredictable, UN—. That prefix became the starting point: a mechanical box, that continuously folds and unfolds. I filmed its movement, and the video traces that folding back to where it originally came from MY LIPS closing the loop between the box, the feeling, and the body that first held it.

How can I follow what I’m curious about right now?
At the time, I was obsessed with new AI tools like Flora and wanted to test them by making a short music video. The project was about trying things I’d never done before. These weren’t mediums I usually work with, but I wanted to see what I could make with them.
